TV programs like LA Ink and Miami Ink have helped change the "stigma" about getting tattoos. Tattoo designs have moved along with progress and is now quite technical, you can use software programs to help with choosing your body art and there are thousands of templates to choose your Tattoo design from. You can choose your design, print it and take it to your local Tattoo artist - so simple.

People are getting inked for all types of reasons, like the loss of a loved one to a life changing experience like religion. Then there's the person who wants body art for no other reason than just because, and leaves it up to the artist to come up with a design. Artist seem to love this, allows them to show off there creativity and artistic talent.
Tattoo conventions are bigger than ever, with hundreds of artists under one roof and thousands of visitors coming through the doors for days, there's no excuse not to find the style and design that suits you. There are as many woman artists as men, no longer a male dominated industry. Classic styles like Celtic Designs Tattoo's are still popular some of the most common designs asked for are. Knots: The entwined patterns of the knot design represent the continuous cycle of life and death with no beginning and no end. There are times when the knot works form certain geometric shapes, like triangles and circles. When triangles and circles combine, it makes a trinity knot that symbolizes the mind, body and spirit.

Risks of Your Tattoo Ink
As a part of essential tattoo equipment, tattoo ink is supplied in most tattoo stores. You must have heard someone telling you that possible risks are associated with it, but do you actually know that?
Tattoo ink has two parts: the ink pigments and the carrier. Pigments are made from vegetable dyes, plastics, heavy metals, minerals and some other things, while the carrier is some kind of liquid that can spread the ink evenly to tattoo designs. Ink with plastic has more vivid colors. Outlining and shading work both need the ink's help.
You know tattoo body art requires you to be more cautious as it's relevant with blood and cells. For your body's immune system, tattoo ink colors are external attacks, so it will take actions trying to get the colors out of your body, leading to a big breakage to the design.
So, what risks it has on earth? You may be scarred to know that ink colors will cause phototoxic reactions. When the design is exposed to the sun, you may receive allergic reaction, more serious for those pigments containing plastic inside. If the tattoo ink supply you bought doesn't have an ideal quality, radioactive or toxic may occur.
Things will be fine if you have chosen a better carrier. In that case, alcohol is highly recommended, a promoter which allows an easier access to enter into the bloodstream for the chemical ingredients inside the tattoo ink. Alcohol performs well in working in harmony with various carcinogens and mutagens in the ink to reduce their harm. Also, it increases the probability of cell mutation in the tattooed area, as well as the whole body.
And you should listen to the tattoo artists' advices to get a good tattoo after case. Less exposure to the sun will do you tattoos good.
In a word, for a safer tattooing, you may need to get some quality tattoo ink and know more about tattoo after care to reduce the risks.

A Guide To Snake Tattoo Designs
It was over 50 years ago when I saw my first snake tattoo. My father proudly showed off his snake and dagger tattoo design he just had inked on his upper arm. I liked it too as he had incorporated my name in the design. He told me then he chose this design to represent strength and protection. If he were alive today, maybe he say something different, but I'm sure, in that tangled web of tattoos he eventually ended up with, this was still one of his favourites.
What is it that still draws people to this design? There are many answers to this and I will name just a couple. For example, the snake's popularity may have something to do with the rich history of myths and legends. One such myth is that of the ancient Greek myth of Medusa, the beautiful snake haired woman, who had the power to turn men into stone with a single glance, and I'm sure we know of a few women who still have that power today.
Snakes and serpents have a long mythological history associated with good and evil, life and death, beginnings and endings. When a snake sheds its skin it is seen as a symbol of rebirth, change, and healing.
Another tale of re-birth is that of the Ancient Greeks who had Ouroboros, a snake curled into a circle biting its own tail. The idea being that the continuing eating and re-growing of the tail is a symbol of the eternal cycle of ruin and re-birth.
The shedding of skin by the snake has also been associated with re-birth or new beginnings. The ancient Greeks believed snakes were sacred to the god of medicine Asclepius who had a staff with serpents wrapped around it, which you can still see today as a symbol in modern medicine.
What about the story of Hydra, a 9 headed serpent defeated by Hercules. The story goes Hercules had a difficult time killing the Hydra because when he cut one head off two heads would grow back. He eventually solved the problem by burning the stumps to stop another head growing, and the Hydra lived no more.
In some mythologies snakes are seen as the keepers of wisdom and sacred secrets. But the snake has also been show as a symbol of evil, death, or deceit. In Christianity, the serpent tricks Adam and Eve into disobeying God. Perhaps due to the deadly venom many snakes possess, myths involving snakes have often portrayed them as evil.
In Australia, India, and Africa, where snake myths are related to rainbows, and rainbows are often associated with rain and fertility. I like the story of Da, a mythological African serpent who kept the oceans and sky in place and we could catch a quick look at Da when a rainbow appeared.
Another reason for the snake's popularity as a tattoo design is that you can be incorporated with any other design, such as, hearts and daggers, or skulls and dragons. The beauty of the snake tattoo design is it doesn't look out-of-place with any other tattoo design.
And snake tattoo designs looks great with, or without the use of colour. You can have the brilliant array of snake scales in various shades from the very bright to a dull hue. Or no colour at all starting from a pale grey to a vivid black, and either way the end result I'm sure will look fantastic.

Choosing an image for a tattoo is more challenging than deciding whether or not you should even get a tattoo. That's because a tattoo is an image that you will be living with for a very long time. It is important that you like your tattoo and that it has some sort of meaning for you. While it takes some people a couple days to choose a tattoo idea, it takes others a couple months.
To choose a cool tattoo idea, start considering what you want to express through the tattoo. This way, you can narrow down your search and find the perfect image. Other things to consider are the location of the tattoo, your gender and resources for inspiration.
There is something unique about everyone that can be turned into an image. The following are some cool tattoo ideas:
* If you enjoy the outdoors, you can choose an abstract or very interesting image of a tree or flower.
* If you are an artist, you can choose an image of the important tools an artist uses. Better yet, you can tattoo one of your favorite art pieces on your body.
* Many people have certain artists, poets or famous individuals they look to for inspiration. You can tattoo an artwork of another artist or a quote from an author.
* Another popular tattoo idea that can be highly creative is graffiti.
* Tribal or Celtic tattoos are cool ideas that can be turned into creative pieces of art. Tribal tattoos can be Chinese, Indian, Native American, Latin American, African in origin.
* Looking into the history of art can give some creative tattoo ideas that are also cultural.
* Abstract patterns are always unique tattoo ideas for the body.
* Quotes written in other languages are not only beautiful but also appealing.
* Combine two different tattoos to create one image.

Design Your Own Tattoo
Anyone can go to a tattoo parlor and look at galleries of tattoo images for ideas. These images have probably been tattooed on someone else and are not as original. You can look at other tattoos for inspiration, but the artwork really shines when it is your own.
It has become highly popular for people to create their own designs for tattoos. This adds a personal touch and makes the tattoo more meaningful. To create your own design, it is helpful to think of a theme that reflects your personality or your life. Then, you can come up with images that express these ideas.
Tattoos are works of art created on the body, which is a type of canvas. Somewhere inside your mind or in the real world, there is inspiration and creativity for a cool tattoo idea that you can display on your body. Take the time to choose a tattoo that you like and look at many sources for ideas.
