Over the years, the butterfly has a great historical significance for the people. The Greeks believed that the human soul is born every time a butterfly out of its cocoon. The Irish, on the other hand, believe that the butterfly stands for the souls of the dead waiting to meet their maker. Japan said that the butterfly represents the young woman while the two butterflies symbolize marital bliss. Many of the great kimono worn by geisha have butterflies on them. The Indians also have strong beliefs about the butterflies. Blackfoot tribe who believe that dreams carry a butterfly, while the Zuni tribe thinks that white butterfly predict early summer.

Upper Back Tattoos
When you think about upper back tattoos I would guess pretty much anything can come to mind. The first type of tattoos I think of are the tribal style tattoos. And this tattoo does have some of that style mixed into it. Although this one is primarily red in color and it carries the name ‘Leadfoot’ right in its center. Now ‘Leadfoot’ is probably there for the southern band called ‘Leadfoot’.
